Beware: Non food item reactions; Cast iron

Just a quick note that I thought people might benefit from.  Please beware of pre-seasoned cast iron pans and skillets!!

I just learned the hard way and trust me; trial and error is not fun.  So before you purchase new cast iron cookware, be sure to contact the manufacturer beforehand to find out what type of oil was used to season it.  Everything from canola oil to peanut oil can be used and often, soybean oil is a cheap, abundant alternative.

Off to bed for me now, with a nice dose of Benadryl to counteract the itching.  Goodnight, and stay well.
